Description Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

Instructor Policies
  • This syllabus may be updated as needed throughout the semester. Any significant changes will be announced in class, sent via email, or posted on Blackboard.
  • Students are responsible for notifying the instructor if they cannot access course materials or will miss an assignment. Requests for makeup work will be considered at the instructor’s discretion and are not guaranteed.
  • Late work will not be accepted, and no credit will be given for missed assignments.
  • Cell phones may not be used during class. Other electronic devices are permitted only for educational purposes.
  • Grades will not be discussed over email or by phone.
  • Appropriate clothing must be worn on laboratory days to ensure safety. Failure to wear appropriate lab attire will result in forfeiting the lab assignment for that day.
  • Plagiarism and cheating are strictly prohibited and will result in non-replaceable zeros.
Attendance Policy
  • Students are responsible for attending all lecture and laboratory sessions on time.
  • Attendance will be recorded; however, it will not directly affect the final grade.
  • Attendance may be considered when determining borderline grades.

COVID 19 Information The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
